In fact, the event was a magnificent test of preparation for the junior team of the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, in preparation for the II Copa de España Sprint, which will be held in Seville on the 25th and 26th of May.
The Es Nàutic paddlers, Noel López, Raúl Prendes, Álvaro Rubio and Ilhan Velasco continued with the brilliant line of results that they have been registering throughout the season, dominating the different events held in the junior men's category. They won the 500m K-4, fighting until the final part of the race with the paddlers from Club Marítimo de Mahón, Montgomery Hall, Pablo Espildora, Álvaro Iglesias and Sergi Martín, who finished in second position. In addition, Noel López also won in K-1 1,000 metres and in K-2 500 metres together with Raúl Prendes. He also won silver in the K-1 200 meters.
Raúl Prendes, for his part, won two more medals in K-1: silver in the 1,000m and bronze in the 200m. Álvaro Rubio also won two more bronze medals, in K-1 1,000 metres and in K-2 500 metres, together with Ilhan Velasco.
It is also worth mentioning the unexpected triumph of Alex Manzanares in K-1 200 meters, in the sub23 category, also achieving bronze in the 1,000 meters.
On behalf of Club Nàutic Portitxol, Toni Mikhaylenko and Ignacio Pujante were proclaimed champions in K1 200. And, in addition, the tandem formed by Santiago González and Ignacio Pujante won bronze in K2 200.
The Club Marítimo de Mahón won a total of seven gold medals, among other results. Claudia Vidal showed, once again, the great moment of form that she is going through, winning in the junior women's category in K1 200 and 500 meters, as a fantastic prelude to the national junior women's selection that will be held in a few weeks in search of international places.
In K2, Claudia Vidal and Ana Carreras won silver in the 200m and 500m, while Cristina Carreras and Eloisa Jiménez won bronze.
In the K2 200, Álvaro Iglesias was second with Pablo Espíldora, while Montgomery Hall was fourth with Sergi Martín.
In the sub-23 category, in the K1 200m, Isaac Cordero took bronze finishing third while in the 1000m he was second.
In the senior category, Dion López was the surprise in the 200 metres, confirming his good sensations by beating the current Balearic champion and coach at the Club Marítimo de Mahón. Escandell took his particular revenge over the 1000 metres, winning the race, while López was third. Both also took gold in K2 over 200 and 500 meters.
Dion López, Isaac Cordero, Pau Hierro and Vinca Escandell, in the senior K4, won clearly in the 500 meters after a very explosive start that left the RCN Palma group with no options
