The Consell de Mallorca renewed the agreement for the headquarters of the Maritime Museum with the Sóller Town Hall. The vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councilor of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, has signed the agreement for three years with the mayor of the municipality, Miquel Nadal. The aim, she explained, is "to consolidate the Sóller headquarters as a privileged place for the conservation and dissemination of maritime heritage". In fact, he pointed out that, "this February, 1,490 people have visited these facilities: this is the record for a month of February and double the number of last year".

Roca assures us that the Sóller Maritime Museum is a museum open to the public and that it is very dynamic, given that in recent months it has carried out different activities with the social services of the Sóller Town Council and has collected the oral heritage of the town's fishermen. In fact, the mayor of Sóller, Miquel Nadal, has assured that he is very satisfied with the management of the space and has celebrated the fact that the people of the town are increasingly visiting this space and getting involved in its work.

In addition, the exhibition of the Consell de Mallorca, 'The school colonies of the Provincial Council of the Balearic Islands (1893-1936). The documentary legacy', is now on display at the Maritime Museum of Sóller. It is an exhibition organized by the General Archive of the Consell de Mallorca with the Study Group on the History of Education of the UIB, with Francisca Comas Rubí and Carlos Menguiano Rodríguez as curators. The images show the documentation on the school colonies promoted by the Provincial Council since the end of the 19th century. The documentary series has been preserved almost in its entirety and spans from the end of the 19th century to the post-war colonies.

Thanks to the documentation, it is possible to know, in great detail, how these summer activities, popularized in Europe at the end of the 19th century, were organized. The memoirs, photographs, records and pupils' work that can be seen in the exhibition bring the public closer to the activities that took place and the daily life of the children who took part.
