The Nautical Conference will unveil the progress of: Codification Commission of Recreational Boating

One of the essential thematic blocks in the Nautical Congress, which will start next Thursday 7th of March in Euskalduna Bilbao, is the legislation of recreational boating, its challenges and advances, in the voice of those responsible for the competent Administration.

Undoubtedly, this year is a priority topic that will occupy the morning of March the 8th, from 11:00 am, with speeches and two panel discussions highly anticipated by the nautical community.

Firstly, within the thematic block "The Maritime Administration and its challenges for the 2024-2025″, we will have the interventions of Benito Núñez Quintanilla, following his recent appointment as Secretary General of Air and Maritime Transport, who will be followed by the intervention of the new Director General of the DGMM, Gustavo Santana.  This panel will be completed by a round table discussion moderated by Javier Garat, President of the Spanish Maritime Cluster and President of the Blue Economy Commission of CEOE, with the participation of Alvaro Sánchez Manzanares, Secretary General of State Ports, together with the Director General of the DGMM.

The growing role of ports, the impact of technology on nautical management and the adaptation of regulations in terms of competitive advantage will be, among others, the issues to be raised in this round table debate.

At 12:00h, the second round table discussion on the 8th of March, will analyze the year since the Codification Commission for Recreational Navigation was presented at the previous edition of the Nautical Conference, its legal progress and next steps.

Julio Carlos Fuentes, Deputy General Director of Maritime Regulation and International Cooperation in the Ministry of Transport, Sonia Barbeira, Head of the Functional Area of recreational boating S.G. of Safety, Pollution and Maritime Inspection. DGMM, Juan Luis Pulido, Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Cadiz, and Carlos Sanlorenzo, Legal Advisor of ANEN, as moderator, make up the panel of this round table discussion.
