The inaugural event, held at 18:00 hours, was attended by the participating athletes and the continental heads of the class, as well as by the sailing board member of the RCNP, the ocean navigator Hugo Ramón, who encouraged attendees to explore the city and highlighted the role of the club in promoting sailing in Spain.

During his speech, Ramón emphasized the historical commitment of the RCNP to the development of sailing: "The promotion of sports activity is part of the DNA of our entity since its foundation, and we are proud that our club has been able to contribute its grain of sand to the growth of various boat classes in our country. This commitment is not only present in our actions and annual programs, but also in our long-term vision for the development of the sport of sailing."

The introduction of the OK Dinghy class in Mallorca, driven in 2020 by RCNP partners Javier Estarellas and Luis Portella, is a reflection of this vision. Since then, the class has grown significantly in the local area. "In just four years, we have seen how this class has gone from being unrepresented in the Balearic Islands to achieving a prominent position in the international competition calendar," added the sailing board member of the RCNP.

Yesterday, October 29, was dedicated to the confirmation of registrations, measurements, and training on the regatta field of the Bay of Palma, where competitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the local conditions.

The competition program will start today, October 30, and includes two races daily until Saturday, November 2. The event features, among others, the participation of the current European champion, Charlie Cumbley.
