YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The next edition of the Palma International Boat Show will present two differentiated and sea-connected exhibition areas thanks to the addition of a new 5,000 square meter area located at the Club de Mar. The organization has been looking for alternatives for years to expand the fairgrounds and accommodate more companies and boats requesting to participate in Palma's nautical fair, organized by the Ministry of Business, Employment, and Energy, through the Regional Development Agency of the Balearic Islands (ADR Balears), and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA). Given the impossibility of expanding at El Moll Vell, an agreement has finally been reached with the Club de Mar that will allow for a space dedicated to boats ranging from 40 to 100 meters in length, mainly sailboats, from shipyards of unique models. On land, an exhibition area will be set up with service and equipment companies for these types of yachts, such as repair and maintenance industries, naval engineering, naval construction, and interior design, etc.
The Minister of Business, Employment, and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, who presented the new expansion at FITUR, highlighted his satisfaction for "having been able to respond to a historic claim of the nautical sector that demanded growth of the fair. The new Club de Mar is a perfect marina for this type of yachts, with a lot of tradition and experience in the world of large boats, offering all the technical and logistical equipment for this exhibition".
The presentation of the new edition of the fair was attended by the President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens; the Vice President and Minister of Economy, Finance, and Innovation, Antoni Costa; the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Jaume Bauzá; the Director General of Economy, Catalina Barceló; the manager of ADR Balears, Silvia Delgado; and the manager of the Club de Mar, José Luis Arrom.
Sáenz de San Pedro has stated that this expansion represents not only a quantitative leap but above all a qualitative improvement in the offerings of Palma's nautical fair, which will become the world reference event for large sailboats. The minister stated that this action represents a first experience aimed at consolidating this space for future editions. It is expected that, in three years, it can accommodate more than twenty megayachts at sea and about forty exhibitors on land.
The two exhibition areas, El Moll Vell and Club de Mar, will be connected by sea through shuttles that will link the two areas in a journey of about five minutes. Visitors to the Palma International Boat Show will be able to tour both areas with a single ticket, making the fair experience much more attractive.
It is worth noting that the Palma International Boat Show has over forty years of history and represents the fair that inaugurates the nautical season of the Mediterranean. The next edition will take place from April 30 to May 3. With an average of 30,000 annual visitors and the participation of more than 280 companies, it has become an indispensable tool for energizing a key economic sector for the productive fabric of our community. It should be noted that, according to data from the Balearic Marine Cluster study, the nautical sector enjoys a solid business ecosystem with more than 850 companies and 5,150 workers. Each year, the sector generates around 1.106 billion euros, representing more than 3% of the Balearic GDP.
