The Pitiusas Nautical Days Celebrate 35 Years

The XXXV Pitiusas Nautical Days regatta is the oldest cruising sailing competition held in the Pitiusas islands, which started as the Tour of Ibiza and Formentera in the 1970s with two important Trophies, the Gold and Silver Jabeque, and has evolved into the current format that combines the sporting aspect with leisure under the current name.

In this thirty-fifth edition, which will take place between October 11 and 12, boats from the mainland, as well as from the rest of the Balearic Islands along with international crews, will meet. All of them are top-level vessels that will compete over three days to inscribe their names in the race's roll of honor.

About 250 sailors, not only national, many of them from different European countries such as Ireland, England, Belgium, France, Italy, Norway, Germany, Finland, and others, will meet at the Nautical Club of Ibiza to enjoy their favorite sport.

As for the program of the XXXV Pitiusas Nautical Days regatta, everything starts on Thursday, October 10 with the opening of the regatta office, registration of participants, and the giving of gifts, at 7:00 PM the skippers' meeting will be held, at Marina Ibiza in the Sa Calma restaurant.

On Friday, October 11, if the wind allows, the first two races will be held, with a 29-mile regatta between Ibiza, rounding Formentera, and finishing at Punta Gavina (Punta Pedrera), establishing a checkpoint at Punta Roja.

At the end of the races and after the posting of results, the trophies for the day will be awarded at the La Bocana bar at the Maritime Station of Puerto de la Savina.

On Saturday, October 12, the journey from Ibiza to Sant Antoni de Portmany will take place, with a 38-mile crossing leaving the island to port and a checkpoint at the Moscarter lighthouse and arrival in Sant Antoni.

The trophy presentation for Saturday's races, the second day, will be held on Sunday, October 13 at 9:00 AM in the sports area of the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni.

On Sunday, October 13, the 19-mile course will be sailed to complete the fifth and final race of this XXXV Pitiusas Nautical Days regatta. Three intense and exciting days for the sailors, who will have the opportunity to circle the island of Formentera and the island of Ibiza.
