Following the success of the first edition, the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands is once again organizing an open day to showcase the work being done at the port and bring the sea closer to society.
STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTERLast year, the Mallorcans enjoyed a day at the port of Palma, this time, next Saturday, October 26, the port of Maó will open its doors with the event "Viu el port", an event full of activities and workshops for the whole family.
In this way, the sea, Balearic nautical activities, and the port once again become the main protagonists of this Open Day in which endless activities will be carried out throughout the day at different locations near the port of Maó.
Culture, tradition, music, sport, and maritime history are the main themes that attendees can enjoy. They will be able to, among other things, take guided tours of the dry dock, Favàritx lighthouse, King's Island, or the Fishermen's Guild. Get to know the Salvamar (Maritime Rescue vessel), the port police, traditional Menorcan boats, or the mussel farms of Solona.
They will also be able to get started in the world of nautical sports by enjoying a canoeing exhibition or boarding a canoe, learning about Dragon boats, or going sailing in a sailing boat through the port of Maó.
Of course, in this family event, there is also room for music, dancing, and even equestrian shows. At the Cruise Pier, there will be performances of traditional dances and modern ballets, as well as various children's activities.
It should be noted that some of the activities offered during the event require prior registration. You can check the complete schedule of "Viu el port" with all the activities, workshops, and talks, schedules, and the exact location at the following link: https://viuelport.com/
