The students have worked with a scientific methodology to discover, based on local history, how to contribute in the present and in the future to the preservation of the oceans. The plan, in line with the objectives of the Escoles Blaves of which Ses Rotes Velles is a part, seeks to encourage critical thinking and scientific knowledge, as well as to promote a love for environmental sciences.

They also recognised and applauded the dedication and work of the school's teaching staff.
In addition to the congratulations and diplomas, the Town Hall has awarded the students with two tickets for each of them to attend the ATP 250 Mallorca Championships, which will be held in the municipality next June and will bring together the best players in the world of tennis.
The 1,000 euros of the prize, awarded by the IMEDEA (Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Studies), will be invested in environmental awareness, in posters that will be placed on the beach of Santa Ponça and other enclaves of the municipality to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the sea and its environment.
