More than a hundred sailors from different clubs in the Balearic Islands gathered at the Club Nàutic S’Arenal (CNA) to participate in the Proa Group Trophy, a regatta for the ILCA 4 female, ILCA 4 male, ILCA 7, and 420 classes.

In total, there were 3 races scheduled per day, making 6 races per class for the entire event. On Saturday, November 9, only two races for each of the participating classes could be held, due to a weather report marked by a very low intensity southwest wind. As a result, the start of the competition, set for 12 noon, had to be postponed and delayed until 1:30 PM, allowing the first of the races to be held with a wind of between 5 and 6 knots, the minimum wind intensity for these classes to sail.
On Sunday, November 10, however, the weather conditions prevented the races from being held, as showers prevented the entry of the forecasted wind, leading to the cancellation of the planned races and making the results obtained on Saturday official.
The Proa Group Trophy continues the legacy of the historic Renault Llucmajor Trophy, a regatta with a great tradition and fully consolidated in the club's light sailing calendar. It maintains its same philosophy and characteristics under the new name of its sponsor, although this year it has been moved in the calendar to November instead of May, as in previous years. "This change is due to two reasons. For the club's calendar, it is much better, as in May it overlaps with the start of the Sailing School and other important cruiser or 6M class regattas. Also, in November the regattas tend to be qualifiers and more decisive at a sporting level. In this way, we wanted to give more weight to this emblematic regatta," explains Alex Duran, sports events coordinator at CNA.
The event concluded with the traditional trophy presentation, which was carried out with the participation of Joan Jaume on behalf of Proa Group, and Ricard Alabau, Sailing Committee member, on behalf of CNA.
"We are thrilled to be part of this emblematic regatta," says Patricia Puerto, Marketing Director of Proa Group, a company that is very committed to electromobility and sustainable mobility. "By acquiring Renault Llucmajor, we saw the opportunity to continue involvement in this event and maintain collaboration with CNA, a club with which we share fundamental values, such as commitment to sustainability and the environment," she highlights. "Moreover, we are delighted to continue deepening our relationship with the club through new collaborations," she concludes.
