The RCNP Baleària has been classified in the 18th position overall, being the best in the feminine ship with a total of 75 boats. The World Championship is added to the recent victory in the Women's Cup of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE and in the last round of the Iberdrola Women's Sailing Circuit, which places María Bover as one of the best sailors of the moment.
The competition in Baiona began with a puncture that hung like a sword of Damocles over the crew of the Real Club Náutico de Palma, as they committed an off line in the first race. This forced them not to make any mistakes in the remaining races, given that there was only the possibility of a discard. Despite this, the RCNP Baleària took an early lead in the women's category and competed at a very good level, including Wednesday, when the wind picked up and the men's teams had an additional advantage. The rest of the days, the intensity was light and the direction was unstable. It is worth noting that a large majority of the boats beaten by Bover and her girls are made up entirely of men.
María Bover was euphoric after the victory in Baiona. "We are all very happy, because we have gone from strength to strength. We started the championship a little bit unevenly, with an off line, but we have done very well the rest of the days and we are satisfied. The season has been incredible, you can see that we have been going to many regattas and getting to know each other, and improving a little bit more in each new event", said the Real Club Náutico de Palma athlete, who praised the work of the whole crew: "If the distribution of tasks is good, it translates into results. We have coordinated quite well".
Team Balearia faces the last race of the season with renewed strength after the World Championship victory. "We still have the final of the Iberdrola League in Alicante, where we have a chance of winning because it scores double points".
