The Posidonia oceanica restoration project, promoted by Ibiza Sostenible Fundación Blue Life, will hold the first dives to replant the marine life from the 5th to the 7th of September.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The first national pilot project that will develop on the island, under the name of "Restoration of Posidonia meadows and conservation of the Mediterranean marine ecosystem" started in May with the first dive to collect Posidonia seeds, which were transferred to aquariums and have been sprouting all these months.
The next step will be the replantation, which will be combined with sustainable tourism conferences with talks with investigators and experts, transfer to the aquariums and replanting area, and immersion for restoration.
On the other hand, this pilot initiative searches to identify and map new coral colonies and areas where there are special presence of the species bullet ant (P. clavata) and the white gorgonian (E. singularis) as well as to assess their condition.
Based on the information gathered, a management, monitoring and conservation plan will be developed together with the competent administrations and research centers, including protection measures.
"The ultimate goal is to guarantee the survival of these species in the Mediterranean and their natural habitat in the long term," the foundation reports.
