The ‘Rupit’ by Mireia Garcia strengthens its lead in ‘Sa Lliga Hivern’ at Club Marítimo de Mahón

The Club Marítimo de Mahón vessel secured its second victory this weekend in a race where the north wind ranged between 14 and 18 knots, with a course set between a buoy in front of Cales Fonts and another one a mile southeast.

The ‘Rupit’ by Mireia Garcia has taken the lead in the ‘Sa Lliga Hivern’ Trophy. The first boat to reach port was ‘Sukita’ by Virginia Petrus, completing the 7.8-mile course with a real-time finish of 1:52:52. However, this time was not enough to secure victory, which ultimately went to Mireia Garcia’s ‘Rupit’. Despite crossing the finish line in 1:58:01, after time compensation, she secured first place with a 2:08 advantage over ‘Sukita’. The podium was completed by ‘Asturcon Quinto’ by Aina Triay, finishing 16 seconds behind second place and 2:24 behind the winner.

With these results, the ‘Rupit’ now leads the overall standings with 2 points, followed by ‘Sukita’ with 6 points, tied with ‘Asturcon Quinto’, but leading due to better race results.

The ‘Sa Lliga Hivern’ Trophy will resume on Sunday, February 23, with the third race, followed by the fourth and final fifth race on March 9 and March 23.
