The sailors of Club Nàutic S’Arenal, María Perelló and Marta Cardona lead the World class 420

The World Championship of the 420 started this monday at Alicante with complicated wind conditions and it was only possible for the women's teams to compete. The sailors of Club Nàutic S’Arenal, María Perelló and Marta Cardona have been the winners of the disputed tests in the yellow team.

The Committees of the Competition left punctually and past midday, when it was planned to start the first tests, the whole fleet was at sea. The wind, which was coming from the south, it was not clean there were numerous rolls, ups and downs in intensity.

Even though the feminine category was able to complete a test by each group. In the yellow team, the sailors of Club Nàutic S’Arenal Perelló and Cardona, were arriving at Alicante as the favorite team, as they are the junior champions and feminine sub champions, they have shown their potential winning the test. 

In the rest of the classes, there were two exits for the Yellow and Blue teams, but finally the conditions were not even up to the minimum and the Committee decided to suspend it temporarily until 15:20h, when the postponement flag came up, the fleet went to the harbor, finalizing the journey.

For this Tuesday the forecasted program is from twelve o'clock to start the tests, with a maximum of three during the day for each of the team.

The Final Phase starts next Thursday until Saturday, if only there is a minimum of five tests in each category.
