The second prize, valued at 100 euros, has been granted to María Cristina Reus Llagostera for her photo of a nighttime perspective of Calvià village. Thus, the two best images have been recognized from over 50 submitted to the contest under the hashtag #mirinconfavoritodecalvia.
The goal of the call was to stimulate the creativity of participants and promote Calvià through the lens of its citizens. For this purpose, the social media platform Instagram was chosen, given its popularity, especially among young people, and the potential for virality of the images shared by the contestants.
Additionally, the winning photograph will compete for national awards in the My Favorite Corner project, the results of which will be announced on September 27, coinciding with World Tourism Day. The My Favorite Corner project, which celebrates its fourth edition in 2024, has gathered over 7,000 images in 50 local contests throughout Spain in its first three years. The initiative encourages the creation of visual content for cultural purposes while promoting local tourism through citizen participation on social media.
