One of the main new features of the season is the commitment by the Ajuntament to increase accessibility features. This year there has been a notable increase in equipment for people with limited mobility with the addition of new amphibious chairs (increasing from 10 in 2023 to 19 in 2025), walkers (from 7 to 14), and other support elements such as amphibious crutches, as well as the installation of shaded areas with awnings and umbrellas. These areas are present on beaches such as Oratori, Es Carregador, Palmanova, Son Maties, Magaluf, Ses Penyes Rotges, Santa Ponça, Romana, Torà, and Palmira, in addition to new additions in Portals Nous and Cala Vinyes.
The beaches of Calvià continue to focus on quality. It is expected that in 2025 the sands of Calvià will once again be recognized as the best in the Islands in terms of service quality. In the last call, Calvià led the list of beaches with the best services in the Balearics according to the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE), obtaining 15 Q quality flags, thus being the first municipality in the archipelago and the third in Spain with the most distinctions. The procedures to qualify for a Q flag involve passing an independent audit that certifies compliance with the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and safety.
The reactive lifeguard service - beach staff who do not specifically dedicate themselves to lifeguarding tasks but who act as auxiliary resources - is provided with the necessary personnel depending on the season and the risk level of each beach. They can be required or assist in cases where it is necessary during the mandatory surveillance hours of the public service. Likewise, outside the mandatory surveillance hours, if the operation continues open and if necessary, this auxiliary resource must perform first aid to beach users until emergency organizations arrive.
Calvià's beach regulations also include a series of measures for the proper functioning of the service in terms of cleaning. The concessionaires are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the sand, showers, public toilets, and urban furniture, following hygienic-sanitary protocols. Waste separation systems are maintained to ensure clean beaches respectful of the environment.
Furthermore, the concessionaire companies must install, monitor, and maintain the marking of swimming areas to ensure the safety of swimmers against boats. They must also install, monitor, and maintain rental services for pedal boats, paddle surf, and canoes/kayaks, as well as services for towed water activities (ski-parachuting, banana boats, etc.).
