Next Saturday 8th of June the second edition of the Passion for the Sea Regatta will take place at the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (CNR), a recreational, sporting and social event for sailboats from all the clubs interested in taking part.

On the sporting side, one of the highlights of the event is the crossing itself. It is an attractive route parallel to the coast and very close to it, always prioritizing safety, between Son Bieló and Es Trenc: ‘The regatta can be easily followed and enjoyed from dry land. In this way, we want to bring sailing and sailing as close as possible to society,’ says Carlos Hellín, producer of Passion for the Sea.
The event, which already held an interesting first edition last year, takes its name and is sponsored by the multiplatform of nautical communication that broadcasts weekly and throughout the year TV and radio programmes on Group 4 Comunicació (Canal4), as well as offering daily news content on the website www.pasionporelmar.com and on the different profiles of social networks always focused on offering news, reports and nautical information.
The fleet will set sail at 10 o'clock in the morning and, after returning to port after the regatta, a lunch will be held at the club's facilities, with the great help of the sailor Toni Reta, at the cooker. After the meal, the prizes will be awarded. As in the previous edition, trophies will be awarded to the first three finishers, as well as to the last one in the classification, as a joke to encourage a festive atmosphere among the attendees.
Also, in addition to the winners for their positions in the competition, this year there will be a special prize for the best publication on social networks made in the framework of the regatta, which will go to the sailor who created it, as long as they have shared their images tagging Pasión por el Mar and adding the hashtag #pasionporelmar or #nosencantamojarnos.
After the trophy presentation, the sailors will be able to enjoy, to the sound of music, some drinks courtesy of the collaborating brands of the Passion for the Sea programme such as Bodegas Suau, and Begudes PUIG, among other collaborators. ‘With this event, we want to give back to the CNR and its partners a part of everything they have given us with their support over the years,’ says Hellín, who recalls that Nautimedia has recently celebrated its tenth anniversary in the service of communication and sailing.
‘The regatta will have a very visual character, with strong branding throughout the course. I don't know if it was a success or not, but after the great time we had last year, we hope to exceed the number of boats and reach twenty, although the number of participants is not so important as that they come with a predisposition to have a great time and enjoy, without rushing or later commitments, a day at sea and camaraderie. We want the Pasión por el Mar Regatta to consolidate as a real party for sailors, I don't know what we will do in the following editions, but logically everything will depend on the reception of this event", Hellín points out.
Pasión por el Mar is the only multi-platform that reports daily on Balearic nautical news. In addition to offering TV and radio content that is broadcast weekly from the Canal 4 group, and through its website, pasionporelmar.com, it offers nautical reports and all the latest news from our islands in an entertaining and friendly format, far from confrontational journalism, with fresh sections, so that they can be reproduced at any time, free of charge, without subscriptions, through its digital platforms, as well as traditional radio and television.
‘We are an attractive showcase specializing in one of the main economic engines of the Balearic Islands and we work to put a smile on the sea's face. We produce quality audiovisual content from our studios on a daily basis to give sailing the visibility and media coverage it deserves,’ Hellín adds.
