This social, sporting event saw the participation of 14 sailboats from various nautical clubs, primarily from Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, but also from Club Nàutic S’Estanyol, Puerto Portals, and Club Nàutic de Sóller.

This race, part of the club's annual Saturday circuit, started just after 11 AM in front of the first line of the municipality of Sa Ràpita, Campos. Immediately after the start signal, the sailors headed towards the first marker buoy on this coastal route between Son Bieló and Es Trenc, in southern Mallorca, aiming to bring the regatta closer to local residents and tourists.

With a south-southeast wind of about 10 knots, participants completed the course, always staying close to the shore. One of the main goals was to make the race visible from land, although the weather and haze made it challenging to achieve this.

"The regatta could be followed and enjoyed from the shore. This was one of our goals, as Pasión por el Mar's main mission is to bring nautical activities closer to the public," said Carlos Hellín, producer of Pasión por el Mar.

After returning to port, the event continued at the club with a communal meal, significantly contributed to by club member and sailor Toni Reta, who delighted participants, their families, and friends with one of his culinary specialties.

Following the meal, trophies were awarded. Like last year, the top three finishers received trophies: “S'Indio III” (Joan Lladò), “Peppa” (Simon Mcgoldik), and “Huayra” (Jose Martín). Thus, the crew of "S'Indio III," captained by Joan Lladò, returned to the podium after finishing second in last year’s edition.

As a humorous gesture to promote a festive atmosphere, a trophy was also awarded to the last-place finisher, “Calisay” (Antonio Juarez). In the first edition, this prize was given to the crew of “Xalest” to honor their participation and determination to finish the race despite low winds.

In addition to competitive prizes, this year saw the introduction of a special award for the best social media post related to the regatta, which was given to sailor Juan Pedro Gazquez of “Patatús.”

Dozens of images were shared on social media throughout the event, from before the race, during the journey, and at the subsequent party, tagging Pasión por el Mar and using hashtags #pasionporelmar or #nosencantamojarnos.

But the day didn’t end there. After the trophy ceremony, the festive atmosphere continued with drinks and music for all participants, courtesy of collaborating brands like Bodegas Suau and Begudes PUIG, among others. "With this event, we wanted to give back to CNR and its members a part of everything they've given us through their support over the years," emphasized Hellín, noting that Nautimedia recently celebrated its tenth anniversary in communication and nautical services.

The event, which had an interesting first edition last year, is named and sponsored by the nautical communication platform that broadcasts TV and radio programs weekly throughout the year on Grup4 Comunicació (Canal4), as well as daily content on their website www.pasionporelmar.com and various social media profiles focused on current events, reports, and nautical information.

"The regatta aims to be highly visual, with strong brand presence throughout the course. Whether it was successful or not, after the fun we had last year, we hope to exceed the number of boats and reach twenty. However, the number of participants is less important than having attendees ready to enjoy themselves and have a day of sailing and camaraderie without rush or commitments afterward. We want the Pasión por el Mar Regatta to become a true celebration for sailors. Future editions will depend on the reception this event continues to receive," Hellín added.

Pasión por el Mar is the only multi-platform outlet providing daily updates on Balearic nautical news. In addition to TV and radio content broadcast weekly by Canal 4, and through their website, pasionporelmar.com, they offer nautical reports and the latest news from our islands in an engaging and accessible format, far from confrontational journalism, with fresh segments available for free, without subscriptions, via their digital platforms as well as traditional radio and television.

"We are an attractive showcase specializing in one of the main economic drivers of the Balearic Islands, and we work to bring a smile to the sea. We produce quality audiovisual content daily from our studios to give nautical activities the visibility and media coverage they deserve," concluded Hellín.
