The Team Baleària -RCNP champion of the Iberdrola Women's Sailing League

The Team Baleària-RCNP skippered by Maria Bover, has been the winner of the Trofeo Alicante City & Beach, of the Iberdrola League and Spanish Championship of Women’s Sailing.

The team of Palma achieved the title of the circuit in the last regatta of Dorsia Covirán-Alicante City & Beach, the boat that finished ahead of the two in Alicante would win the League and the national title.

As for the Alicante City & Beach Trophy, the podium was formed by Team Baleària-RCNP first, CN Arenal, second and Dorsia Covirán-Alicante City & Beach, third. The Iberdrola League-Spanish Women's Sailing Championship was won by Team Baleària-RCNP, champion; Dorsia Covirán-Alicante City & Beach, second and CN Arenal, third.

The Balearic team started the final day with a good lead, which increased as the day progressed, to also win the Medal Race and confirm their victory. Team Baleària-RCNP was formed by Maria Bover, Miriam Oliva, Melaia Henke and Laura Martín.

Maria Bover commented upon arriving at the RCR Alicante that “we are very happy with this victory, it has been a very challenging and hard-fought championship, and we close a very good season”. 

The six crews that went on to compete in the Medal Race were Team Baleària-RCNP, CN Arenal, Dorsia Covirán-Alicante City & Beach, MRCYB Vela en Femenino, RCR Alicante City & Beach and RCN Valencia.

It was a very open day for the whole fleet, in which the two Balearic crews were the most consistent, while the rest of the fleet shared out other leading positions with good performances from RCR Alicante City & Beach and Madrid Navega, who also played a leading role on this final day.

The Iberdrola 2023 League has consisted of five races held throughout the season at the RCM Abra/RS Club, CN Calpe, RCN Madrid, CN Arenal and RCR Alicante.
