The Trofeo S’Arenal-Sa Ràpita-S’Arenal marks two intense two weekends of cruise regattas

The season of cruise regattas has started with strength in the Club Nàutic S’Arenal (CNA), which will be hosted from the Saturday 7th and Sunday 15th of October of the two races of the Trofeo S’Arenal-Sa Ràpita-S’Arenal.

This regatta of the ORC and ORC Social consists in the departure from the CNA until the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (CNR) this Saturday and the return on Sunday of the following week.

Currently, there are 15th ships registered coming from different nautical clubs of Mallorca, so it is expected to await the participation of 60 sailors. “It consists of one of the biggest dates on the calendar of cruise regattas of the club, and in fact it is one of the most crowded”, assures Álex Duran, sport director of the CNA.

“The people like it very much for many reasons. In first place, because it is an idyllic occasion to make fellowship connections among sailors and with the CNR. Secondly, because it is planned in such a way that the sailors can participate as well in two other interesting regattas organized by the CNR: the Trofeo Presidente, which will take place this Sunday the 8th, and the Trofeo Vinos J.L. Ferrer, which will be held on Saturday the 14th. This way, they will experience two weekends of sailing different to what they are used to with the regattas we normally hold: the coastline has nothing to do with the Bay, so they will be sailing with other winds, another type of wave, other landscapes... In addition, the coastal courses between the CNA and the CNR are longer, with between 18 and 20 miles, compared to the 10 or 11 that they usually do the rest of the year", adds Duran.

The participating ships will be moored during the week at the CNR, next to the boats of the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, the Club de Vela Santa Ponsa and the Real Club Náutico de Palma. During these two weekends of regatta, they will be able to make closer connections among the sailors.
