The waves put the paddlers to the test in the second school canoeing event in Santa Eulalia

Last Saturday, 16th December, the second canoeing school sporting event was held on the beach of Santa Eulalia, organized by the Club Náutico Santa Eulalia and the Balearic Canoeing Federation.

Throughout the season a total of four events are held, which will determine the final classification. After all of them, with the sum of the three best results of each participant, the winners of the season will be known.

The competition was attended by a total of 40 athletes, 29 from Club Nàutic Sant Antoni and 11 from Club Nàutic Santa Eulalia. The swell meant that the courses had to be modified and the competition distances reduced, with the final distance being 500 meters for Benjamins, 1,000 meters for Alevines, 2,000 meters for Infantils and 3,000 meters for Cadets.

The winners in all categories were: Roy Kikozashvili (CNSA) in Men Cadet A, María Gallego (CNSA) in Women Cadet A, Toni Llorens (CNSA) in Men Cadet B, Candela Madrigal (CNSA) in Women Cadet B, Fidel Griffiths (CNSE) in Men Infantil A, Izan Pascual (CNSE) in Men Infantil B, Lara Ribas (CNSA) in Women Infantil B, Marcellí Griffiths (CNSE) in Men Alevín A, Julia Roselló (CNSA) in Female Alevín A, Liam Ferrari (CNSE) in Male Alevín B, Alba Guerra (CNSE) in Female Alevín B, Julen Velasco (CNSA) in Male Benjamín A, Lucia Amengual (CNSE) in Female Benjamín A, Pau Griffiths (CNSE) in Male Prebenjamín and Zoe Álvarez (CNSA) in Female Prebenjamín.

The next event will take place on 20 January, also in Santa Eulalia des Riu.
