STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTEROver three days, Club Nàutic S’Arenal and Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa welcomed sailors from various nautical clubs across the Islands, who stayed busy and enjoyed different activities. They had intensive sessions, both on land and in the water, covering topics such as physical preparation, sports psychology, and technical talks.
On Friday, just after the presentation of the days, Iván Cañellas, a physical trainer specializing in functional assessment and movement, conducted the first talk, discussing how crucial it is to be fit to perform well on the water.
On Saturday, at both venues, Enhamed Enhamed, considered the best Paralympic swimmer in history and a specialist in sports orientation, shared his story about how he turned his visual impairment into an opportunity for success, both in sports and in life. After an initial conference for all participants, he held slightly more specific talks for each group of young sailors.
Additionally, Enric Noguera, coach of the RFEV, and Nora Brugman, Olympic sailor in the 470 class, offered a talk focused on the importance of communication with coaches, the necessity of consistent training, and goal-setting for personal and athletic development.
It was a weekend of technical training and unity in sport made possible by the work of the coaches Joan Carlos Cardona, Albert Serra, Sebas Picornell, Miguel Aguilar, Marcos Plomer, Albert Vadell, Juan Manresa, Lluis Fernandez, Jaume Genorard, Jose Moreno, Xesc Mulet, Joaquim Malhao, and Maria Vallespir, along with the special collaboration of Mateo Sanz and Andrea Torres in the iQ Foil class, Ana Moncada in ILCA 4, Fernando Flethes in 420, and Luca Verzel, Optimist coach, who was responsible for the practical and theoretical sessions for the youngest sailors.
