The competition has aroused great interest among offshore skippers in the Mediterranean arc, as it is part of the official calendar of the class and is a qualifier for the 2025 Mini Transat. In fact, more than 40 sailors from 10 countries have already confirmed their participation in this race, including Mallorcan Hugo Ramón, who, after completing the editions of 2005, 2007, and 2009, is preparing to compete for the fourth time in the transoceanic race aboard his “Verdhugo”.

The Minis, these 6.50-meter-long sailboats designed for solo and A2 offshore sailing, will set sail from the Real Club Náutico de Palma on November 9 to face the first stage of the regatta and head for Melilla. Once this first crossing is completed, the sailors will return to Palma in a second stage that will begin on November 16. In this way, the participants will complete this thousand-mile round trip regatta between Palma and Melilla.

The innovative designs of the Minis incorporate the latest advances in nautical technology, although the competition rules limit the use of certain electronic equipment and prohibit contact with land by any means, as well as external assistance.
