Twenty sailors from the Balearic Islands dock in Alicante to win the Optimist National Championship.

The Optimist national championship will start tomorrow, Wednesday 27th March, and will have two Qualifying Series and two Final Series.

The Spanish Optimist Championship 2024 has been officially inaugurated with the parade of the different delegations along the Paseo de la Explanada until reaching the auditorium of La Concha, where a show and the authorities were waiting for them and where the teams from the different territorial federations from all over Spain have been presented.

From this Monday 25th until next Saturday 30th of March, the national event with the best Optimist class sailors in the country will be held at the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante. 

A total of 156 sailors from 10 Autonomous Communities are participating: Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Catalonia, Valencia, Galicia, Madrid, Murcia and the Basque Country. 21 sailors from the Balearic Islands have travelled to Alicante to participate in the competition: ten sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Palma, five from Club Nàutic S'Arenal, two from Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, two from Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença, one from Club Nàutic Cala Gamba and one from Es Nàutic.
