These students, who were selected after a recruitment process that drew nearly 300 applicants and involved over 100 interviews, will base their training on the following contents:

  • Professional Certificate Grade C: Auxiliary operations for the maintenance of systems and equipment on sports and recreational boats (390h)
  • Creation and Management of Personal Branding and Social Networks for Job Searching (35h)
  • Ergonomics: Risk Factor Analysis (45h)
  • Training in Personal Competencies and Skills for Work (36h)
  • Basic Nautical English (100h)
  • Cleaning of Sports and Recreational Boats (40h)

This training, which lasts 12 months (646h of training + internships) and is paid for the student, is part of the project that the Balearic Marine Cluster has launched this 2025 under the call "SOIB Training in Alternation in Strategic Sectors and hard-to-cover sectors."

It is expected that nearly 100 students from the Balearic Islands will go through the classrooms of the S’Algar Training Center and various companies in the nautical sector of the islands this year, learning a specialty in one of the sectors considered strategic in the Balearic Islands.

  • Specifically, the Balearic Marine Cluster, in collaboration with the S’Algar Training Center, has launched the following Dual Training projects besides the Professional Certification level 1 in Systems Maintenance (Mechanics and Electronics):
    • Professional certification level 1 in maintenance of surfaces and nautical carpentry.
    • Professional Certification level 2 in Rigging and Sailmaking.
    • Professional Certification level 2 Nautical Painting.

The Balearic Marine Cluster aims to continue expanding this training proposal in order to cover all the nautical areas of the family of Transport and Vehicle Maintenance of the Catalog.

If a company wants to participate in the Dual Training program of the Balearic Marine Cluster, it will receive 100% of the salary costs derived from the interprofessional minimum wage (SMI) in proportion to the working hours of the students/employees and up to an increase of 25% if the company's Collective Agreement is higher, in the level 2 certificates, and up to an increase of 10% in the level 1 certificates.

Furthermore, the subsidy would cover 100% of the costs derived from social security and a compensation of 60 euros per month per hired student will be paid for tutoring during the twelve months of the duration of the training contract in alternation. On the other hand, the commitment of the Balearic Marine Cluster to the students is that upon completion of the dual contract, they can remain employed in the same company or in another company in the sector.
