“Wanderlust” (RI1), “Silver Fox” (RI2), “Kresal” (RI3), and “Mowgki” (Classics) have won the Trofeo Cormorán-Petits Cellers organized by the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença after a spectacular day of racing where the wind was generous and allowed the completion of a coastal course of 20 miles up to the islet of Aucanada, awarding each half of the course the value of a complete race.

The competition, which started on Friday, August 23, gathered 36 boats from the RI and Classics classes and has been confirmed as one of the nautical events of reference for the fleet of northern Mallorca.
“Wanderlust”, owned by Bep Pons and representing the Club Nàutic de Ciutadella, maintained a tight battle with another boat from Menorca, “Txica Checa” by Toni Pons, which finished second. The winning crew managed to win the buoy race on Friday and came first and second in the coastal race on Saturday, closing their score with four points, one less than the runner-up. The third place in the RI1 class went to “Gudrun VIII”, owned by Diego Colón de Carvajal, sailing under the flag of the Real Club Náutico de Palma.
In RI2, the victory went to “Silver Fox”, sailed by the commodore of the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença, Pere Antoni Nadal, who left no chance to his rivals by winning all three races of the competition and was declared the absolute winner of the Trofeo Cormorán. “Lampo Rosso” by Joan Jofre (Club Nàutic Colònia de Sant Pere) finished in second place thanks to two seconds and a third place, while “Panaraea” by Joan Andreu Pizá, from the hosting club, had to settle for third place.
In the RI3 category, the performance of “Kresal” by Andreu Cirerol (Club Nàutic Can Picafort) stood out, champion with a second and two firsts. In second place was the sailboat “Celeste di Mare” by Celeste Sanders, four points behind the leader. The third place went to “Capitán Api” by Ignasi Cabanellas. The last two boats fly the burgee of the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença.
Lastly, in the Classics category, which compete under the CIM compensation formula, victory went to “Mowgki” by Vincent Harris, from RCN Port de Pollença, who won the coastal races contested by the historic boats that joined the Trofeo Cormoran-Petits Cellers. “Rubicón”, a vintage sailboat with a Bermuda rig, finished in second place, followed by the 1963 Sparkman & Stephens “Rosina di Mare” by Amador Magraner.
