What is your favourite spot in Calvià?

The Calvià Town Hall has presented the new contest "My favourite corner of Calvià" to encourage creativity in digital photography and generate content on social networks.

"My favourite corner of Calvià" is the new contest presented by the Calvià Town Hall in which it invites citizens to upload photographs of the municipality to Instagram. 

The aim is to stimulate creativity in digital photography and generate enriching content on social networks with a cultural and touristic purpose. Participants will be able to show relevant aspects of the town, such as landscapes, sunsets, parks, little-known corners, typical gastronomy or representative places. 

To participate, participants must take a photo with any device and upload it to Instagram with the hashtags #mirinconfavorito and #mirinconfavoritodecalvia, and fill in the registration form. The text in the description of the image will form part of the work and may influence the jury's decision. Anyone can participate, regardless of age or place of birth, as long as the work is made in Calvià or makes reference to the locality.

The competition is divided into two categories: local awards and national awards. In the Local Awards category, the winning work will be printed to promote it, will represent Calvià in the national awards of "My favourite spot" and will also receive 200 euros. The runner-up will receive 100 euros.

For the National Awards, the five best images will be awarded with amounts ranging from 500 euros for the winner to 100 euros for the fifth winner. 

There will also be 10 runner-up prizes of 50 euros. 

The deadline for entries is 10 September. The local prizes will be announced on 16 September, and the national prizes on 27 September, coinciding with World Tourism Day. The competition will be in its fourth year in Spain in 2024. In the first three editions, 70 local photographers took part and more than 8,000 images were submitted.
