The championship involved 86 sailors from Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, who had previously qualified in four regattas held from September to November 2024. The competition also tied into the Federation Cup held at CN Sa Ràpita in late November and the School Finals set for March at CN S'Estanyol.

The competition remained tightly contested until the final day, with Xuacu García from CN Arenal and Gonzalo Llambías from Club Náutico San Antonio de la Playa vying for the top position in the under-16 category. After completing the three races on Sunday, Xuacu García emerged as the champion of the Balearic Optimist Championship 2025.

The championship began on Friday under challenging conditions with unstable northwestern winds, causing delays and allowing only two of the planned three races for the day to be completed. However, conditions improved on Saturday, with steady northeastern winds of 15 to 22 knots enabling four races, including the one postponed from Friday. Sunday’s conditions remained favorable, allowing the completion of the scheduled three races, culminating in a total of nine races for the championship.

The awards ceremony took place on Sunday afternoon with José Ramón Picó, president of CNA, and Antonia Paniza, president of the Balearic Association of International Optimist Class (ABCIO), presenting the awards. Among the winners were Mario Coronado García, Marta Zaynoun, Jan Palou Espinar, Mary-Anne Osha Pérez, Xuacu García, and Maria de Lluc Bestard Mas, who were crowned champions in their respective categories.
